Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. In 2016, she joined ESPN. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her land her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next assignment was reporter for sports at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she served as an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as an anchor for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Anchor duties for sports or weather were also frequently requested. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. In that station, she was given greater duties. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was appointed as the anchor of the sports program by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. The same role she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collins' parents are born in Veracruz Mexico. They eventually were moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. In 1992, the family settled in Miami following the move from Mexico to the US. In the course of a few months, her father divorced from her mother. She was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sibling living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta was a senior high school student and was very aware of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. As it turned out she loved the school and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They developed a close connection. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to live up to his expectations and never failed him.
