Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is an SportsCenter News Anchor. Her first job at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was hired by she was hired by the CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. Then she moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Covering stories on trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she was an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment to Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same capacity she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd, 1985, in Mexico City. She is older than her sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter in 1995. Her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. It was on a summer vacation that she stayed with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. She discovered that she was a fan of the campus, and the university had the program she desired. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to enroll at the university and major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was a friend. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his love of journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
